Miles Of Hiking In And Around The National Lakeshore

As with any natural environment, the best way to truly experience the National Lakeshore is foot. So park the car and hike into the wilderness on one of the many well-marked trails in the National Lakeshore. Be sure to take a camera - inevitably, you will discover spectacular views.

Click the links below for maps of each trail. Maps are also available at all trailheads.

For another type of of hike, try a long walk on the beach. You'll discover that there are miles of beaches on which you can make the day's first and only footprints in the sand. Three of our favorites are from Glen Haven around the point of Sleeping Bear, from Thoreson Road to Pyramid Point and from Pyramid Point to Shalda Creek.
